what are American Values?

In Obamas speach about closing Gitmo he kept refering to upholding our American Values. Honstly, I look around these days and wonder what they are anymore. So can anyone tell me what are American Values?

When Boodel went to America the people he met were sound and there values and morals very similar to his own , but I suppose he might have been lucky enough to meet the right kind of Americans . Can you imagine the 4th of July being canceled becase the Blacks and Hispanics objected to it as being a KKK event ? well thats how it is in England on St Georges Day . My country Right or Wrong is ingraved on Boodels heart ,but England is no more thanks to the rise of center right P C pollaticians for the last twenty years or so . Its very name is scorned ,its Long History of Heroic achevements its poets its creativety its arts , its Heros are no longer learnt at schools no one under 25 knows who Hitler was never heard of the Koreen war Suies or even Veitnam ,but whats worse is they dont want to know so long as X factor ,Opera ,and the wannabe celeb cult is poured down there throats at every oppertunity.I fear America is on that same self road to National Identity Extincion

I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers.. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America; and see what happens...Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door.


Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.

I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business.


We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations.

I'm a little more laid back on the subject. I think you can have a discussion as long as you arent trying to prove the other person wrong. For instance on religion, whatever religion you may belive in...that is the right one. Just becuase I may be religion x and you are religion y, doesnt mean that one is right and one is wrong.

In a discussion I will always share what my views are,,,,but never impose my views on anyone.

Believe me. If you have a bar full of Irish from both sides of the fence, Scot's and English there no such thing as a relaxed discussion...If you dont forbid them to talk about religion and politics your mopping up blood.

And even in Holland we've had our first jihad murder on a celebrety. One reason the extreme right politic party is growing fast.

Yea, your probably right, I have heard that part of the world they are a little....shall I say a little more Hardcore, when it comes to religion and politics

MMMMmmm Religion and Politics .Boodel Believes in Neither through experience ,not by the way he was raised.Boods father was raised hardcore Protistant his mum a more liberal C of E.but never had there veiws imposed on us. but I can remembers dads family after a few drinks singing Orange songs and an uncle used to sing lullabys of heroic orange folk.on his mums side going back a few generations his great great grandad had to leave the north of Ireland and fled to England becase he maried a catholic girl .once in England they both joined the C of E and all mums family the same. Boodels politics have come full circle from extream Left to extream right.and round a few times ,he has some ideas from all political spectrums to the exasperation of some and the amusement of others ,but thev all somehow gelled into non partisan arangement in his head that works for him .if a government we must have then it should be 650 independant freely elected people not a bi or tri party arangement we are saddled with today .but saying that he loves to talk of both and because of his Non Belief he can take and argue the side of Any one verse Any one and ten minutes later can reverse roles and and argue the other pint of veiw just as pashionately.His Only Standards the Love of his Country and the people who gave there lives to make it so .and his Love of Freedom . that is Boodel in a nutshell .
